Director of Theatre Arts, The Out-of-Door Academy (2006-2010)

Produced, directed, designed, marketed, and built over 30 comedies, dramas, and musicals.

Created a dual track academic and skills-training based Theatre Department from scratch, teaching both Middle and High School students.

Established and taught classes for college-bound theatre students (Acting 1-4, Technical Theatre, and Independent Study Assistant Directorships and Technical Directorships).

Quadrupled the number of students participating in shows.

Instituted a uniform audition process to level the playing field for all students.

Contributed significantly to design and planning of new Arts Center, including Black Box Theatre.

Oversaw and instructed students in all technical aspects of shows, including light/sound design and execution.  Worked in conjunction with other area theatres (academic and professional) and non-profit organizations to create strategic and marketing partnerships in the community.

Worked closely with fine arts department and administration to coordinate large-scale musicals, raise visibility of program in the community, and standardize expectations of performance levels.

Assisted in writing successful grant proposals for funding of school and fine arts initiatives.
